Chemical properties
Flammable, in case of high heat and open flame, there is a danger of burning. Comes in contact with oxidizing agents and reacts violently.
The function and use of cyclohexanone
Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material and the main intermediate in the production of nylon, caprolactam and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as in paints, especially those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymers and their copolymers or methacrylate polymers. Excellent solvent for organophosphorus pesticides and many similar pesticides, used as a solvent for dyes, a viscous solvent for piston aviation lubricants, and a solvent for grease, wax and rubber. It can also be used as a leveling agent for yarn dyeing and fading, a degreaser for metal polishing, and wood staining and painting. Can be used with cyclohexanone for peeling, stain removal and spot removal.
The function and use of cyclohexanone is also reflected in the condensation of cyclohexanone and cyanoacetic acid to obtain cyclohexene cyanoacetic acid, which is then eliminated and decarboxylated to obtain cyclohexene acetonitrile. The final hydrogenation gives cyclohexenylethylamine [3399-73-3]. Cyclohexenethylamine is an intermediate for drugs such as Chemeche and Temalen. Used as a high boiling point solvent for cosmetics such as nail polish. Mixed solvents are usually formulated with low-boiling point solvents and medium-boiling point solvents to obtain suitable evaporation rate and viscosity.Preventive measures
Hazard overview Health hazards: This product has anesthetic and stimulating effects. Acute poisoning: The main symptoms are irritation of mucous membranes of eyes, nose and throat, dizziness, chest tightness, general weakness and other symptoms. In severe cases, shock, coma, limb convulsions, pulmonary edema, and finally death due to respiratory failure may occur. Returns to normal quickly after exposure. Liquid is irritating to skin; eye contact may cause corneal damage. Chronic Effects: Long-term repeated exposure can cause dermatitis. Explosion Hazard: This product is flammable and irritating.
First aid measures for skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and rinse skin thoroughly with soap and water. Eye Contact: Immediately lift eyelids, rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention. Inhalation: Leave the scene quickly to fresh air. Keep the airway open. If you have trouble breathing, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately. See a doctor. Eat: Drink plenty of warm water to induce vomiting. See a doctor.
Hazardous combustion products of fire-fighting measures: carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Extinguishing method: Cool the container with water spray, if possible, move the container from the fire area to an open area. Extinguishing media: foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand.
