Maleic anhydride, also known as anhydrous malic anhydride, maleic anhydride, maleic anhydride, is an acid anhydride of maleic acid. It is a white crystal with a strong pungent odor at room temperature. The chemical formula is C4H2O3.
chemical properties
Maleic anhydride hydrolyzed to maleic acid (cis-HO2CCH=CHCO2H); 1:1 alcoholysis to monoester cis-HO2CCH=CHCO2CH3; used as dienophile in Diels-Alder reaction; Valence metal coordination, examples of complexes such as Pt(PPh3)2(MA) and Fe(CO)4(MA).
The main purpose
Mainly used as raw materials for the production of unsaturated polyester resin, alkyd resin, pesticide malathion, high-efficiency and low-toxic pesticide 4049, long-acting iodine amine, etc.

Packaging, storage and transportation
Transportation Precautions: The packaging should be complete and the loading should be secure at the time of departure. During transportation, make sure that the container does not leak, collapse, fall or be damaged. It is strictly forbidden to mix and transport with oxidants, reducing agents, acids, edible chemicals, etc. During transportation, it should be protected from exposure to sunlight, rain, and high temperature.
Storage Precautions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Keep container tightly closed. It should be stored separately from oxidants, reducing agents, acids, and edible chemicals, and should not be mixed. Equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. Storage areas should be provided with suitable materials to contain spills.
Packaging precautions: plastic bags or two-layer kraft paper bags with full opening or middle-open steel drums; plastic bags or two-layer kraft paper bags outside fiberboard drums, plywood drums, cardboard drums; plastic drums (solid) outside plastic bags; plastic drums ( liquid).
